CLASSIC JACK: SUPER 8 TO DV
Kim Kozzi and Dai Skuse merged into Fastwürms sometime back in the mists of time, forging their own vocabulary out of neon and birch bark. But it was Super 8 that got them started. Saturday night's Pleasure Dome screening hauls early work like Suicide Re-Entry and T Bone Bank out of the vault and throws it up alongside their new mixmaster digital videos. The recent tapes also speak a private language, but this time it's cobbled from vintage movies, witch discourse and what looks like an impressive collection of cats. In Rural Paranormal they play their occult status for laughs, dressing up in pointy hats and literally herding felines.
Button Push is an epic collision of tech-fetish sci-fi movies and spooky divination. Fastwürms say it's "about the symphony of blood and outer space awe, the dialectics of the firing sequence, re-entry anxiety, the haunted dress, death and sex." And cats. Kozzi and Skuse will attend.
