Rejection Projections Movie Festival Rating: NNN
If you're not all movied out, catch the last of three nights of independent film under the stars (hopefully) on the sprawling patio of the Cadillac Lounge tonight.
And just in case the hyper-efficiency of squeezing together end-of-summer patio-sitting and end-of-film-fest movie-watching isn't multi-tasky enough for you, the RPM Fest is donating all proceeds to cancer research, so you can check off your good deed for the day, too.
The movie's not bad either. Director Christopher Warren Smets will be in attendance to discuss The Overlookers, a cleverly constructed tour through the lives of several attractive 20- and 30-somethings intricately linked through romance, coincidence and the machinations of a corporation that charges big bucks to stalk potential mates and engineer the perfect meeting.
Once you buy into that slightly far-fetched premise, the solid performances and elegantly loopy plot twists kick in, and from then on it's smooth sailing. (September 16 at the Cadillac Lounge)
