ABOUT ADAM (Gerard Stembridge) is a very peculiar feminist film in which three Dublin sisters — Kate Hudson, Frances O’Connor and Charlotte Bradley — are all seduced by Hudson’s mysterious fiancé, Adam (Stuart Townsend). Adam is seen from each sister’s (and their brother’s) point of view, and they all get exactly what they need from the mutable man. Are the women treacherous for sleeping with their sister’s fiancé? Maybe, but this refreshing film understands that real-life women — who aren’t white-trash skanks — could do something like this, enjoy it and be all the wiser. Hudson, the least interesting of the women, pulls off a credible Irish accent. But the film belongs to Bradley, whose turn as the world-weary eldest sister gives the film its shrewd edge. 97 minutes.
