What do Bob Dylan and David Crosby have in common? They wrote political songs with major record label support. That's not true of conscious musicians like singer/songwriter Michael Franti, punkers NOFX and rapper Paris. Artists like these have to start their own record companies to get their music heard.

Sounds Like A Revolution tracks developments from the 60s through the ascendency of über-controlling interests like Clear Channel and Walmart, and the consequent silencing of artists.
Full of concert and political action footage, the doc has terrific energy. But it's the interviews with the articulate musicians that are most inspiring. All hail Franti, Steve Earle, Natalie Pa'apa'a, Anti-Flag's Justin Sane, NOFX's Fat Mike and lots more.
