Wednesday’s TIFF party picks

Wednesday’s best bets for celeb spotting. Door crash at your own risk.

Mildred’s Temple Kitchen serves up the party for Cooking with Stella with stars Don McKellar and Lisa Ray scheduled to attend.

It’s not a film festival event per se but if your idea of celeb spotting is watching what the city’s top fashion editors are wearing as they go into an exclusive preview of the September Issue, stake out the entrance of the Hazelton Hotel’s private screening room.

Everyone who thought Soho House was brilliant for taking over lower Bay station for their party on Saturday should send some of the credit Toronto publicist Kim Graham’s way. She initiated the space with a Fellini-inspired Film Italia party there two TIFFs ago. This year’s event is at MaRS tonight so instead of subways and surrealism, this bash will mix brains and bocconcini.

Also, film festival scoops in 140 characters:

  • Late night TIFF gift lounge gossip: Vivica A. Fox loves the Lundstrom loot she picked up in The Hour’s green room.
  • Boldest bash yet: Monday’s A Single Man after party had Tom Ford, Julianne Moore, Clive Owen, Colin Firth, Naomi Watts and more!
  • Ford seems much more KPMB contemporary than Liebeskind crystal so not surprised he chose the Gardiner over the ROM for his fete.
  • Wonder if Tanner Hall’s Tom Everett Scott preferred the Drake scene on Sunday or the hoity vibe at Vanity Fair’s ONE party on Monday?
  • Lisa Kudrow on her way to TIFF? One well placed spy is boarding a plane from L.A. to T.O. with her at this very moment.
  • Forget his other 94 film credits. Fans at ET Canada’s Monday nite TIFF party celebrating Glorious 39 love Bill Nighy for Shaun of the Dead.
  • Don’t expect Nikki Beachers at the InStyle party. Heard 2 of the mag’s staffers couldn’t get up to the Park Hyatt roof opening night.
