Mamat Khalid’s black-and-white salute to the hoary old B movies of days gone by has a charming, cheesy energy, and his actors clearly have a great time overselling their noirish characters. It’s a little slow to get going, but hang in there things really pick up once the ninja midget brings our hero to the lair of the commie hypnotist.
