The Suited

SUITED (Jason Benjamin, U.S.). 74 minutes. Rating: NNN

Bespoke tailors Daniel Friedman and Rae Tutera’s Bindle & Keep studio is geared toward people who’d feel too uncomfortable to venture into a retail store, knowing they’d never find anything that fits them.

Whereas lots of people of all genders have bodies with hard-to-fit curves, director Jason Benjamin and the store put the focus on non-gender-conforming clients, whom Friedman and Tutera cater to with uncommon sensitivity. They seek to learn not only their customers’ personal aesthetics but their whole life stories.

Lesbians looking for some representation should hang in there. At the very end of the movie, a sequence tracks Bindle & Keep’s New York fashion show, where you can see the full queer range of their clientele.
