KONELINE: OUR LAND BEAUTIFUL (Nettie Wild, Canada). 96 minutes. Rating: NNNNN

This visually stunning film conveys the unique relationship of the Tahltan First Nation to their remote lands in British Columbia, now seriously threatened by mining interests.

Spectacular images of the pristine hills contrast with brutal degradation of the territory at the hands of corporations. But Nettie Wild’s smart enough to show nuanced appreciation for the hard work some Tahltans do for the mine. An extended sequence of four workers trying to secure a hydro tower is very impressive, making this more than just an ideological statement.
