A who’s who of who was where on opening TIFF weekend.
Seems like we share a taste in shops with Juliette Lewis. The actress made her TIFF party rounds on Friday night, stopping by our current Store of the Week Rac Boutique, which was hosting its official opening bash.
NOW’s party for Tamara Drewe with Gemma Arterton and Dominic Cooper hit the Courthouse last night but we were literally sitting on top of oodles of film festival boldface goodness last week. Bruce McDonald, Deepa Mehta and David Cronenberg all stopped by our offices to school emerging filmmakers in TIFF’s annual talent lab.
We felt a bit better about missing New York Fashion Week to cover the TIFF party beat when new 90210-er Ann Lynne McCord told the crowd at the Artists for Peace and Justice Fundraiser on Saturday night that she had skipped the Alice+Olivia show to co-host the party with James Franco and Maria Bello.
Star spotting was never easier than at Hello Canada’s Saturday night do at the Royal Conservatory of Music. Entry into the event came with a celebrity cheat sheet complete with photos and mini bios of bona fide famous folks (Tyler Perry, Shane West, K’Naan) and local luminaries.
While gaming giant Ubisoft’s Sunday night party saw Peaches Geldoff take over the decks from top T.O. spinner DJ Vaneska, entertainment at the splashy amfAR bash was provided by, um, Ace of Base.
