The first nuclear power plant commissioned since the Chernobyl disaster, the OL3 reactor in the Finnish municipality of Eurajoki was supposed to be completed in 2009, only to fall behind due to supply-chain failures, bureaucratic snags and other delays.
I’m vague about those because Return Of The Atom is similarly fuzzy about specifics, preferring to play scary music over time-lapse footage of the OL3 site and indulge in disaster scenarios spun by a local activist who insists the plant is unsafe, even as he admits he can’t provide any proof. Directors Taanila and Eerola seem to have put themselves in the same position.
