You, Me And Dupree (D: Anthony and Joe Russo, 108 min)
Owen Wilson (Wedding Crashers, The Royal Tenenbaums) is one of those actors you either love or hate. Ditto for Kate Hudson (Almost Famous, How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days). So it'll be interesting to see if the cinematic sparks fly or fizzle when they share the screen in this romantic comedy. Wilson plays a bachelor who won't leave the living room couch of newlywed couple Molly (Hudson) and Carl ( Matt Dillon ). Dillon has made a career lately out of stealing scenes from his acting partners, but look for rising star Seth Rogen , the Vancouver-born actor from Freaks And Geeks and The 40-Year-Old Virgin, to earn a few big laughs, too.
Little Man (D: Keenan Ivory Wayans, 98 min)
"From the folks who brought you White Chicks...." That phrase should send a lot of people screaming out of the multiplex, but never mind. Many people saw that earlier dumb comedy, and a lot will pay money to see Marlon Wayans , his head digitally shrunk to fit a small person's body, as a criminal posing as an adopted baby. Shawn Wayans and Kerry Washington (once touted as a possible Oscar nominee for Ray) play the parents.
Both open Friday (July 14). Screened after press time - see reviews July 13 at www.nowtoronto.com/film .
