(D: Renny Harlin, 97 min)
A couple of weeks ago, a group of giggling girls sitting behind me went supernova when they saw the trailer for this teen horror about a group of sexy young guys with chiselled jaws, frighteningly tight abs and super-scary occult powers.
Sex and screams go together. You get scared, you squeeze the person next to you. Do the math.
Renny Harlin, who had a directing career for about two seconds (after Cliffhanger and before Cutthroat Island), is at the helm. The actors look like they just walked off the set of Baywatch. And Wendy Crewson - who's sort of become the female equivalent of Colm Feore - cashes a cheque, too.
Opens Friday (September 8). Screened after press time - see review September 11 at www.nowtoronto.com/film.
