Dance Flick

DANCE FLICK (Damien Wayans). 83 minutes. Opens Friday (May 22). Rating: N

Dance Flick teams the irrepressible Wayans Brothers – Keenan Ivory, Shawn and Marlon – with their nephews Damien, Damon Jr and Craig. So that’s two generations of desperate and crude comedians rolled up into one tedious parody of every movie that dares to bust a move.

There are a few chuckles courtesy of a disgusting sight gag involving a woman’s tight leotards and inflamed lips (you know what I mean).

But the Wayans generally content themselves with overacted references to anything from Save The Last Dance to Step Up, as if that’s all it takes to afford a laugh.

Dance Flick regularly offends without having the excuse of being humorous. The fact that the filmmakers think a fat guy or a flamboyant gay guy is funny in itself is just plain infantile.
