“No nudity – you do not wanna see this.”
GHOST TOWN (David Koepp) Rating: NNNN
Director/co-writer David Koepp artfully flips the premise of his 1999 chiller, Stir Of Echoes, for a Topperesque comedy about a dentist (Ricky Gervais, perfectly cast) who wakes up after a dodgy colonoscopy to find he can see dead people, and they won't shut up. When an insistent spectre (Greg Kinnear) ropes him into stopping his widow (Téa Leoni) from remarrying, Gervais reluctantly complies - only to fall for her as well. And once that plot point kicks in, with Leoni and Gervais striking some marvellous and unexpected sparks, Ghost Town becomes a film of immense pleasures.
