Indie film will make you Look Again at local talent

LOOK AGAIN (Daniel O’Connor). 93 minutes. Opens Friday (June 24). See listing. Rating: NNN

Anand Rajaram’s Amit, a middle-ager who’s been screwed a few too many times, receives a gift from guardian -angels: a pair of eyeglasses that magically reveal whether a person is good or bad. He uses them to find the right woman (Brittany Allen) and land a job as a talent scout before he starts -abusing his powers for kicks.

It’s a goofy set-up, but when it works, Look Again has the charm of a Seinfeldian version of It’s A Wonderful Life.

Writer/director Daniel O’Connor knows when to take his material -serious (rarely) and when to give his appealing cast room to have fun with the comic bits. Considering the no-frills production, it’s all on the actors to sell this thing.

You might’ve caught Rajaram and Allen in their various television outings. Look Again gives us an opportunity to really see their talents.
