Lady In The Water

For complete schedules and mini-reviews see the Movie Times & Reviews and Indie & Rep Film. Rating: NNNNN

M. Night Shyamalan (The Sixth Sense) has been criticized for following the same suspense-with-a-twist formula. Lady In The Water could change that. It’s inspired by a story he used to tell his kids about a a water-loving creature who’s escaped from a kids’ book and ends up in an apartment pool. Paul Giamatti plays the building super who finds the wet woman (Bryce Dallas Howard) and has to deal with the creatures on her tail. The trailers look pretty scary.

Opens Friday (July 21). Screened after press time – see review July 20 at www.nowtoronto.com/film.
