See No Evil (D: Gregory Dark, 100 min)

If you’re a director with a name like Gregory Dark , sooner or later you’re going to make a horror film, right? Actually, Dark, formerly one-half of an adult film production company, has helmed such opuses as New Wave Hookers 2 through 4, Between The Cheeks 1 through 3 and The Devil In Miss Jones 3 through 5. That’s a lot of sequels. Bet he’s hoping See No Evil – about a bunch of delinquents holed up in a seedy hotel that also houses a brutal serial killer played by WWE star Kane – spawns some killer numbers, too. The trailers, full of unknown actors, look sadistic. Ka-ching. Opens Friday (May 19). No press screening – see review May 23 at www.nowtoronto.com/film.
