Usually it’s the stepmother who gets the bad press, but 1987’s The Stepfather turned the gender tables and produced a decent thriller. Now it’s been remade with Nip/Tuck’s Dylan Walsh as the serial killer who’s changed his look, moved across the country and set up home with the unsuspecting Sela Ward and her suspicious teen son Penn Badgley. Things do not go well.
