Mehdi Nebbou and Ulrike C. Tscharre turn in fine performances as parents attempting to ignore their conscience – and bury some evidence – when their teenage daughter Sarah (Janina Fautz) admits to killing her BFF.
The crime has a lot to do with the broken family at its centre. Sarah is all adolescent rage, reacting to her guilty parents’ divorce and neglect. Take that emotional stuff with a grain of salt. This is an occasionally funny genre thriller, with perplexing murders (there’s not just one) and daft twists, superficially dressed as a domestic drama.
