Swervedriver are one of those great British shoegazer bands who broke up in the 90s without ever attaining the level of fame or fortune their enduring legacy suggests they should have. Once signed to Creation Records (home of My Bloody Valentine, Ride and Adorable), Swervedriver influenced a whole generation of moody guitar-rock aficionados who have been dying to see these guys play again. When announcing the news last fall, frontman Adam Franklin seemed pumped to play for old fans as well as the scads of new converts who were too young to see them in their heyday. Swervedriver play Lee’s Palace (June 13, 1 am) with the Besnard Lakes.
