Cure those winter blues by sweating out your stresses alongside a few thousand of your closest friends.
Parisian electro house gods Justice return to Toronto March 17 at Sound Academy (11 Polson). Their show last fall at Circa was one of the parties of the year, and they’re more than able to rock the big room with their riff-heavy metallic disco. $28.50. 416-870-8000.
If you like your house a bit more organic and soulful, check out teenage deep house prodigies the Martinez Brothers February 8 at Revival (783 College). Any suspicion that they’re some kind of novelty were disproved last time they came through town and rocked the house better than DJs twice their age. $20. www.clubzone.com.
On more of a live bent, Chicago party rap duo and MySpace sensations the Cool Kids perform their minimalist odes to BMX bikes and pagers Saturday (January 26) at Wrongbar (1279 Queen West). The beats are dirty and low-fi, but they sure pound nicely in the club. $12 via Rotate This.
If you’re more into straight-up techno, you definitely want to catch the highly anticipated return of Holland’s Speedy J on February 16 at Footwork (425 Adelaide West). His live performance many years ago at Element is still talked about reverently by heads who were there. $20. www.footworkbar.com.
