A cure for the blues

The start of the work week is usually a day to moan, groan and kick a residual hangover. Not this time. The tour gods are in Toronto’s favour. Here, three ways to take back Monday:

1. Drop some Acid (Raps)

Chicago emcee Chance the Rapper brings the soulful sounds of his excellent sophomore mixtape, Acid Raps, to the Hoxton (69 Bathurst), doors 10 pm. $15. RT, SS, TW.

2. Get lost in the phandom

After the cancellation of last week’s show in the wake of The Great Toronto Flood, Phish are swimming again at the Molson Canadian Amphitheatre (909 Lake Shore West), 7 pm. $50-$75. LN, TM.

3. Gain MTL street cred

You know you’ll be going to Montreal at least once before the end of September. Catch Sean Nicholas Savage’s show at Handlebar and pretend you’ve been hip to his bedroom pop from the get-go. (159 Augusta), 9 pm. $7. 647-748-7433, thehandlebar.ca.
