120 Days

Rating: NN

It’s no great mystery why Oslo’s 120 Days are causing a fuss in the UK. Drony shoegazer shit never really went out of style there, and throwing in some New Order and Killing Joke moves just adds to the nostalgia appeal of their self-titled disc. There’s little doubt that their woefully contrived throwback rumble ‘n’ bellow will be a draw for those who can’t get over their 80s fixation — and coming from ‘exotic’ Norway doesn’t hurt. But the fact that the Vice logo stickered on the package is more than twice the size of the band’s name suggests that the people at the label know it’s not 120 Days that will sell this disc. It’s a lifestyle marketing thing you wouldn’t understand.
