Since their jazzy joints are already starting to break in England, the local hiphop duo Abs & Fase don’t mess with success on their Flowtation Device disc, and simply keep dropping clever reality rhymes over funky jams like A Tribe Called Quest used to do. There’s nothing radically innovative here or even adventurous, but while everyone else is trying to be players and thugs, it’s a relief to hear a couple of fast-food junkies who’ve had their sorry asses dumped keepin’ it real.
