Anthrax

Rating: NNN

One of the longer-lasting metal bands, thanks to their loyal following and good humour, Anthrax have repaid their fan base by re-recording their classics, keeping their sound strong throughout. The songs have maintained a freshness that makes me think they were genetically modified, and vocalist John Bush sometimes sounds odd in the place of former singer Joey Belladonna, but the vocals mostly work. Some songs (very few, actually) have been reworked and mildly slowed down, but it’s not very noticeable and still makes the listener go crazy in a good way. They sound like a huge influence on Trey Parker and Matt Stone’s heavy metal parodies.
