Luckily, one of the best MCs in independent rap has got more punchlines than a juice marketer. On Eastern Philosophy, the Connecticut-based Caucasian rhymeslinger keeps loosely to an album-long theme about his East Coast roots – but really this is just another opportunity for the affiliate of the Demigods (whose Celph Titled cameos amazingly here – “Holding your CEO hostage with a staple gun”) to spray other rappers against the wall with his prime witticisms over minor-key-melody-heavy golden-era beats. Ill lines such as “If you wanna brawl better, call Paul Wall to fix all them teeth Ap knocked outta your jaw” are delivered effortlessly and at high volume.
