ASIAN DUB FOUNDATION

ASIAN DUB FOUNDATION Enemy Of The Enemy (Virgin) Rating: NN Rating: NN

Unsmiling agit-pop crew Asian Dub Foundation have never had a problem working themselves into a righteous fury, and Dubya’s war on terror has only wound the band up tighter. Enemy Of The Enemy is their furious response to the current global mayhem, with pointed attacks directed at Bush, Blair and the enemies they helped create. ADF’s Asian-inspired hiphop breaks thunder along, driven forward by Adrian Sherwood’s forceful mix. The breakdown occurs in the delivery of the message itself. With explosive MC Deedar Zaman gone, vocal duties are left to the remaining members. While the words are clear, their bleating is weak. The only rising these awkward rhymes are going to inspire is you getting up to take off the disc.
