Oh good. I was totally worried that since The O.C. got cancelled and Dawson’s Creek survives only on DVD, we all wouldn’t be nearly as exposed to hyper-sensitive dude rock any more. Thankfully, San Diego’s Augustana, by virtue of their narcissistic, self-referential poetics, stand poised to join the esteemed ranks of Counting Crows, Train and the Gin Blossoms, playing almost instantly forgettable, indistinguishable adult rock perfect for those endless nights worrying whether or not that girl at Starbucks reading Captain Corelli’s Mandolin actually noticed you, or for those angst-ridden times when you just don’t know if that Friends reunion will ever happen.
Augustana play the Mod Club Tuesday (January 30).
