I had pen in hand while listening to this new album from Cash Money’s Birdman (aka Baby, aka #1 Stunna) so I could count the N-words on this new album from the Dirty South rapper who makes the bird call. In the 131-second intro, Birdman drops it 51 times. That’s roughly once every 2.6 seconds. I got tired of counting and just sat back to an hour of pure, distilled ignorance about “poppin’ it on the block when it’s hot in the drop and pop the cops yeah pop it pop it hot” and how “we all good with the hos in the hood” cuz they be “eatin’ shrimp pasta.” The bouncing production, handled mostly by Birdbrain – sorry, that’s Birdman – and some by Mannie Fresh is stuffed and marinated in synths, and, as usual, strictly for the Benz Jeep or the club but still sorta appealing to some dark part of your soul.
