You can understand the Black Eyed Peas wanting to duplicate the shock success of their good-times single Weekend, but over an entire album? Stripping away the smarts that made them underground stars, the L.A. crew dumb it down on Elephunk, stringing together as many hiphop clichés in a row as possible over knucklehead beats and bringing in a new member to add to the confusion. One song of this easy-breezy hip-pop is annoying. An entire record is simply baffling, even without the Justin Timberlake cameo.
