This two-disc complete version of Bob Marley’s Live At The Roxy documents a less than stellar 1976 Hollywood gig by the reggae ruler. If it only had the low-energy renditions of Trenchtown Rock, Burnin’ & Lootin’ and Rebel Music, the Live At The Roxy package – substituting a couple of poor photos for liner notes – would seem pointless when much better recordings of those songs are available. However, the second disc adds previously unreleased material from the encore, and although it’s only two tracks, the suddenly switched-on Marley is in prophet mode for a rousing run through Positive Vibration, gearing up for a captivating medley of Get Up Stand Up, No More Trouble and War that lasts nearly 24 minutes, making the whole package worthwhile.
