If Neil Young proved anything, it's that you don't have to have a great voice to sing folk music. And Bob Snider, one of Canada's most beloved folkies, definitely doesn't have a solid set of pipes. Fortunately, that doesn't matter, since his voice, which sounds like he's singing karaoke after downing a few shots of tequila, complements his light, happy tunes.
His latest is loaded with infectious feel-good tracks that'll either get you laughing, dancing or both. Standout tracks include I Used To Be Able To Yodel, a bizarre number about hooking up with a model, and Sittin' In A Doorway, one of the softer, more touching tunes here.
Bob Snider plays the Magpie on Wednesday (November 28).
