Boys Noize (aka Berlin's Alex Ridha) sounds very much like what the mirrored skull on the cover suggests - a collision between death metal and disco. Think big, distorted monosynth riffs that sound like chainsaws getting funky, plus aggressive, bangin' club beats.
It's noisy and abrasive, but the hooks are massive. There's very little filler and not one song that you couldn't imagine rocking a dance floor.
Once in a while the aggression is broken up with some melancholy strings, but it's still matched with squealing electronics and jagged electro attitude. He even manages to make Feist sound menacing on the bonus track remix of My Moon My Man.
Boys Noize rocks the Social Wednesday (September 12).
