Buck 65

Rating: NNNNN

The Halifax-bred hiphop yarn-weaver, whose fancy moves were the highlight of pal Feist’s One Evening video, graces our city four times this week. He spins at Supermarket late tonight (Thursday, November 24), opens for the Barenaked Ladies at Massey Hall tonight and Friday (November 24 and 25) and cracks wise at the Art Gallery of Ontario’s Jackman Hall on Sunday (November 27).

Good For What Ails You

‘This is a compilation of music from medicine shows of the 20s and 30s. It’s weird and creepy and foul at times but amazing overall.’

CITY FIELD – Authentic City

‘All bias aside (friends of mine from Halifax are in this band), this record kicks an adult portion of ass. I can’t seem to listen to it enough.’

KAOS – Court’s In Session

‘One of the most mind-blowing hiphop records I’ve ever heard. It’s from New York, from 1988. I just won it on cassette on eBay.’
