Here's an album that should only remind people of why the whole downloading music thing is so popular: to sidestep shit like this. If you're going to make a best-of in 2007, it should really give a reason not to just BitTorrent Common's whole catalogue in the time it takes to watch a Seinfeld episode. Throw in a DVD. Something.
By no means am I criticizing Common's early work. Quite the opposite: the material is of course classic. But what's the point of collecting the best of his first three albums? It seems both obvious that the label simply doesn't have the rights to anything post-97 and a stupid suggestion that only old-school Common is good. Even if it's limited to the early discs, this is a shoddy collection.
