Brit techno star Dave Clarke's World Service double-disc mix set splits between electro and techno. On the electro side, he takes the listener from experimental beats to silly sex raps and even a Radiohead song. Things get cheesy toward the end, but hey, it is electro after all. The techno disc tends toward the hard, fast and dark, but unfortunately favours busy arrangements and overused sounds. The mixing is all top-notch, but that doesn't make up for the boring tracks. Not serious or minimal enough for fans of deep techno, but not hedonistic enough for the hardcore kids.
