Progressive house superstars Deep Dish have followed up Moscow, their 2001 mix CD, with Toronto, a 24-track double-disc mix that attempts to show their love for this city’s party scene. This time around their sound is house-based, with more defined melodies and elements of funk. There’s still that icy sheen, but it’s also quite lush. A lot of Toronto is actually closer to deep house than to progressive. That might seem like splitting hairs if house heads didn’t take it so seriously.
