Once upon a time, hiring Tim Goldsworthy and James Murphy to rework a song into something that sounds like it could've been recorded by the Talking Heads, ESG or Chic in the early 80s was seen as a good thing. But nobody seems to have informed those out-of-touch DFA boys that it's been two, maybe three years since that whole Disco Not Disco fire flickered out. At least they've made their money, so they've got nothing to lose by tossing a second volume of their retro-handiwork, turning back the clock for Chromeo, Goldfrapp, Hot Chip, Tiga, Junior Senior, N*E*R*D and UNKLE. Only their radical overhaul of Nine Inch Nails' Hand That Feeds shows any sign of creativity. This should still sell well enough to keep them in pricey throwback Krautrock T-shirts for years.
