Since it’s way over on the other side of the world, maybe we tend to forget that Australia has more to offer than just, say, AC/DC. Formed in Melbourne over a decade ago, gorgeous-sounding instrumental trio Dirty Three keep things on the mellow side on their seventh proper full-length. Their core instruments are drums, guitar and violin, but they also use everything from bouzouki to bagpipes, and here for the first time, vocals. The songs are more like quick glimpses than epic marathons, and with barely any voice, the attention to instrumentation is refreshingly present and full-sounding in the lazy, beautiful waltzes and other dreamy, downtempo numbers.
