Rating: NNN

One of the spookiest discs of the year, Beef Terminal’s 20 GOTO 10 laces deep, almost somnambulistic trance and ambient soundscapes — instrumentals all — with fragments of phone conversations and other disembodied voices. It’s not what’s being said that’s so weird most of the samples are too ambiguous to conjure much of anything. But the music itself — meticulous, plodding and really, really dark — spells gloom. Truly uneasy listening.
