The solo debut from stylin' singer Nash Kato might well be the follow-up to Urge Overkill's Exit The Dragon except, unlike that record, Debutante doesn't suck.
Kato continues dancing on the grave of 70s glam rock, spiking Strutter-style riff rawk with big fat backing voices laid down by chicks you just know were wearing platform boots. A straight-on organ-drenched cover of Steely Dan's Dirty Work is surprisingly good and further proof of Kato's retro mainframe. No matter -- he's found what works and he's working it. Roll down the windows on the Grand Torino and come along for the ride.
