More a cartoon figure than an MC, the problem with Busta Rhymes is that while he looks great in Hype Williams videos and can turn the party out when the DJ drops Woo Haa at 3 am, his music is pretty much unlistenable. Fun, but unlistenable.
Anarchy is more unstructured than the album title lets on. Between mid-song advertisements for the new Flip Mode Squad album, Busta inexplicably veers away from his trademark shouting for some abstract mumbling, Wu-Tang-inspired heist fantasies and dreary this-is-your-life rhymes. Sadly, this is not what people listen to Busta Rhymes for. Frantic yelling sessions are in short supply. The DMX/Jay-Z collaboration comes close, but sounds more like a DMX song, which is fitting since D's pretty much usurped Busta's hype territory.
