You've got to feel sorry for Canibus. Before he'd even recorded a complete track, the New York MC was being called "the next Rakim" for his brainy rhymes and fierce flow. Then his Can-I-Bus debut came out and no one cared.
Understandably burned, Canibus spends much of his 2000 BC disc ripping into those who ruined his first time out. Chief among them is Wyclef, who softened Canibus's debut with soft beats and weak production. The rhythms are certainly tougher, but underneath, it's the same old Canibus, blustering on about his computer and why he's the best MC in history. Why should anyone believe him now?
