If it wasn't sad enough watching Morcheeba play catch-up with the rest of the triphop world two years after the music peaked, it's even more pathetic watching them grasp at a defining sound now.
Maybe if there were a hint of bite to their shuffling soul-lite, Morcheeba's lazy attitude of stringing together cliche after cliche would be easier to take. Instead, all we're given is insipid cooing and anemic beats that skip from genre to genre with no passion and even less energy. At least Biz Markie had the good sense to keep his guest appearance under two minutes. MG
