Singer/songwriter Andrea Koziol's Mission:Bliss proves conclusively that Toronto has an abundance of outrageously talented chicks making music that springs straight from the soul. Tough luck for us, eh?
Though Koziol describes her sound as "torch folk," Mission:Bliss might be better termed ambient pop, cushioned by storybook lyrics and Koziol's sweetly swooping vocals, which come without showy pretence despite her range. The supporting players aren't too shabby either -- guitarists Kevin Breit and Justin Abedin subtly scribble inside the lines while bassist Ian de Souza and drummer Mark Kelso keep the whole matter properly grounded. A sunny Sunday morning, captured. firstname.lastname@example.org
