There's left-field jazz and then there are completely off-the-map wonders like Finnish saxophonist Eero Koivistoinen's funk bomb Wahoo!, of which a measly 300 copies were released by the Ab Discophon label back in 73.
Fortunately for those of us without vinyl-obsessed Scandinavian relatives or an extra grand to blow, the sussed rare groove e-tailers at whatmusic.com, in conjunction with Warner Finland, have reissued a 24bit remastered version of Wahoo! on disc so we can all marvel at Koivistoinen's hard honking over a walloping dual guitar, twin bass and double-drummer rhythm section at full crank. Waaaaaaa-hoooooooo! www.whatmusic.com
