p>There is nothing particularly edifying or enlightening about the Beatnuts. The New York duo of Psycho Les and JuJu churn out booty-obsessed hiphop with requisite quantities of sex and violence, and have no pretensions about being positive MCs. That would make Beatnuts typical hiphop knuckleheads, except that it's hard to take their music that seriously. They clearly don't. The beats on Take It Or Squeeze It are predictably cartoonish, and the rhymes make no sense, even when guests like Method Man or Greg Nice stop by. Rather than making any hiphop statements, the pair seem more interested in talking about their shoe sizes and taking the piss with some spot-on R&B spoofs. Gangster comedy with beats.
