Marc De Breyne's debut full-length fleshes out the luxurious deep house sound hinted at on the 12-inch released last year. While that single showed promise, it may have been too laid-back for most dance floors. Electropical is still mellow but more rhythmically and melodically complex, with a warmer vibe. For a young producer, this is a surprisingly mature work, referencing the early deep house sound of Larry Heard without ripping him off. The drum programming sounds fluid and live without resorting to the common house clichés. The perfect soundtrack to a summer patio party.
