Eden Ants launch their EP Friday (September 9) at the Horseshoe. Rating: NNN
Want to hear something perverted? Now that you've taken the bait, you know why Toronto-based Eden Ants load this disc up with crunchy pop hooks. Once you got 'em hooked, all that's left to do is reel 'em in. Founded by the Ender brothers, who made their band into a svelte pop rock outfit, the four-piece does whatever it takes to grab your attention. The song Advertisements starts with a gasp, then clobbers you with sincerity as the band put themselves on the shelves, using marketing to discuss romance. It's not groundbreaking, but its enthusiasm is endearing.
