Making a comeback after a five- or even a four-year hiatus can be a difficult trick to turn for a rock band, so hopes weren’t high for the first new Dictators studio album in 20 years. Shockingly enough, the New York punk survivors’ roaring D.F.F.D. return isn’t just good for a bunch of 50-something relics — this is a great Dictators record, period. It’s an anthem-heavy blast that roars with the chest-beating vitality of Go Girl Crazy. By album’s end, the answer to the album’s opening question of Who Will Save Rock And Roll? is self-evident.
